Thanks a ton! Your video added a super important concept for me: spotting bottlenecks or key constraints. Getting this idea really means a lot to me. But I've got a bit of a confusing question: why do we need to list the top 20 people we want to build stronger relationships with in our yearly plan? Isn't that overdoing it? How do we handle changes to this list? What do you guys think about it

I love this video! I recently saw another video that said you should only have employees in a profit share whose jobs impact the whole business because someone who has a smaller job that only impacts a small part of the business has no control of what others do and thus cannot control if profits are being made so you should just give them incentives. This made zero sense to me because a company is not a bunch of separate Lego pieces, it is a TEAM that creates synergy by working together, just like a bee hive, the many worker bees who only have one small job are essential to the functioning of the hive. I love your model because it fosters a team environment of everyone working together for a common goal.

Also what they are going to take up in next year. What are there needs from training point of view.

This discussion is somewhat innumerate. However, it can be rationalized because the bozo logic will appeal to innumerate people, which is 95%+ of your workers, alas not the brightest 95%. If, on another planet with another species, we just wanted to pay everyone the largest take home (including retirement accounts) with the least taxes, then we would reduce salaries (which pay FICA) and maximize profit sharing, which does not pay FICA. You would essentially be committing to buy everyone up to the maximum 401k contribution ($69k or whatever it is, your personal year) instead of diverting some of that to salary just so your employee can pay FICA. Rationalize all you want, it is what it is, and that is what it is. Profit sharing is better than salary - this is before any discussion of the value of compound interest tax free on money in your retirement account vs. blowing it at Joes Bar with the buddies after work. Like I say, another planet; another species. Listening to this podcast, however, it seems the intent is to manipulate and motivate employees rather than enrich them or act in their fiduciary best interest, so you do you!

When I was at basic training (for the Air Force/ National Guard) we could put quotes up on the board daily, I remember coming up with this one! "Sometimes failure is the success to something much greater." What I meant by that was this... I was a gymnast, and it was my life. It was my everything. I never got to where I wanted to in the sport, but it was actually the best thing for me. You see gymnastics was my idol and my identity was completely wrapped in it... not good. I found Jesus and now my identity is in Him! Game changer, for sure! I failed with gymnastics, but got Jesus!

This Chandler person clearly doesn’t grasp the concept he’s supposed to be explaining. He gives advice on how to be the best employee in your manager’s eyes. That is not what ‘managing up’ means. Managing Up is not about anticipating and meeting your manager’s preexisting expectations. It is about communicating with your manager to steer and curate those expectations for mutual benefit. When I know that the timeline for an upcoming project is unrealistic, I manage up by communicating this information to my boss in a way that they can understand without getting miffed. Often lower-level staff have the best grasp of capacities, logistics, and limitations, and it’s crucial for everyone’s sake that those insights reach the ears of decision-makers.

But what is the process of filing documents with the IRS or SCC? I can't find any videos on this. I am taking my partner's 50% equity (no buyout, just transferring from a 50/50 partnership to a SMLLC). I'm in Virginia. Do I just file a new articles of organization with the state? We don't have an operating agreement.
